The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has declared an important result under the Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff and Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) Examination 2025.

SSC released the Computer Based Examination result on 3 August 2026 to shortlist candidates for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST) for the post of Havaldar.

Candidates who appeared for SSC MTS & Havaldar 2025 can now check whether they have been shortlisted for the Havaldar PET/PST stage.

SSC received more than 36.19 lakh applications, while 8,04,633 candidates actually appeared in the Computer Based Examination held between 4 and 20 February 2026.

Is SSC MTS 2025 Result Also Out?

This point is causing considerable confusion.

The answer is: Not the final MTS result.

SSC's 3 August result notice is titled:

“Declaration of result of Computer Based Examination to shortlist candidates for PET/PST for the post of Havaldar.”

Therefore, the published qualified-candidate list is primarily for candidates shortlisted for the Havaldar physical examination.

For MTS, SSC's examination rules provide separate State/UT-wise, category-wise and age-group-wise cut-offs. MTS merit will be based on normalized Session-II CBE performance and the candidate's Post-cum-State/UT/CCA preferences.

SSC has further stated that the First Round of Tentative Allocation for MTS and Havaldar will be released together at a later stage after Havaldar PET/PST is completed.

How Many Candidates Qualified for Havaldar PET/PST?

SSC has published a separate roll-number-wise list of candidates qualified in the CBE for appearing in PET/PST.

Why Are Havaldar Cut-Offs Different for Every CCA?

SSC considers candidates only against those Post-cum-State/UT/CCA preferences that they submitted in their online application form.

A candidate who did not give preference for a particular CCA cannot later be considered against vacancies in that CCA merely because their marks are high enough.

For Havaldar, SSC shortlisted candidates for PET/PST approximately in a 1:7 vacancy-to-candidate ratio, using normalized Session-II scores and applicable category/CCA preferences.

Is PET/PST Qualifying or Does It Carry Marks?

PET/PST is effectively a qualifying requirement for Havaldar selection.

Final Havaldar merit is based on the candidate's normalized Session-II CBE performance, Post-cum-State/UT/CCA preference and successful qualification in PET/PST. PET/PST itself is not used to add competitive marks to the CBE merit score.

What Happens If a Candidate Fails Havaldar PET/PST?

A candidate who fails PET/PST cannot be considered for final selection as Havaldar.
