ANM/GNM Round 1 Seat Allotment Result on 19 August 2026: Documents, Fees and Reporting Process

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) is scheduled to publish the ANM(R) and GNM 2026 Round 1 seat allotment result on 19 August 2026.

Candidates who receive a seat must complete the required fee payment, download their allotment documents and report physically to the allotted nursing institute between 19 and 21 August 2026.

The allotment is provisional. Admission will be confirmed only after successful document verification, completion of the required upgradation or admission formalities and payment of the applicable institutional fees.

Candidates should check the official WBJEEB ANM/GNM page regularly because counselling dates or instructions may be revised.

Is the ANM/GNM Round 1 Result Out?

As of 17 August 2026, the Round 1 result has not been released. It is officially scheduled for 19 August 2026.

WBJEEB has announced only the result date, not a fixed publication time. Therefore, candidates should not depend on unofficial reports claiming that the result will be released at a particular hour.

Once released, candidates will have to log in to the counselling portal to view their individual allotment status. WBJEEB may also send an SMS or another electronic notification, but candidates should not wait for a message before checking the portal.

How to Check the ANM/GNM Round 1 Seat Allotment Result

Candidates can follow these steps after the result link becomes active:

Visit the official WBJEEB ANM/GNM page. Go to the “Candidate Activity Board.” Open the ANM(R) and GNM 2026 counselling or seat-allotment link. Select the Round 1 seat-allotment result option. Enter the login credentials requested by the portal. Submit the details and check the allotment status. If allotted, verify the course, institute, allotment category and choice number. Complete the seat-acceptance payment through the official portal. Download the payment receipt and provisional seat-allotment letter. Print all portal-generated documents for physical reporting.

Do not share your application number, password or OTP with another person. Candidates should make payments only through the official counselling portal.

Information Mentioned on the Allotment Letter

The provisional allotment letter may contain:

Candidate’s name Application or roll number ANM or GNM rank details Allotted course Name and address of the allotted institute Allotment category or quota Choice-preference number Counselling round Seat-acceptance status Reporting instructions Upgradation eligibility Important admission conditions

Candidates should immediately report any major discrepancy to the counselling authority or allotted institute. Personal and academic information will be checked against the original documents during physical verification.

How ANM/GNM Round 1 Allotment Is Decided

Round 1 allotment is based on:

The candidate’s General Merit Rank or GMR ANM or GNM course eligibility Gender eligibility of the institute Reservation category Available seats Order of locked choices Institute-specific eligibility conditions

WBJEEB prepares separate ANM and GNM merit ranks, but seat sequencing is based on the relevant GMR, not the informational category rank. The allotment rules are explained in the official ANM/GNM 2026 counselling notification.

A better rank does not automatically guarantee a particular college. The candidate must also satisfy the eligibility conditions, and that college must be included in the correct position in the locked choice list.

What to Do After the Round 1 Result

The next step depends on the allotment received by the candidate.

Situation 1: Allotted the First Choice

A candidate allotted the first preference must:

Pay the seat-acceptance fee within the deadline. Download the allotment letter and payment receipt. Contact the allotted institute for reporting time and admission instructions. Report physically between 19 and 21 August. Complete document verification. Pay the applicable institutional admission fee. Complete admission formalities.

There is no upgradation option after receiving the first choice because no higher choice exists in the submitted list.

Failure to verify documents and complete admission after receiving the first choice will debar the candidate from the remaining counselling process.

Situation 2: Allotted the Second or a Lower Choice

Candidates receiving their second, third or any later choice must:

Pay the seat-acceptance fee. Download the provisional allotment letter. Report to the allotted institute for physical document verification. Select either YES Upgradation or NO Upgradation, as applicable. Complete the required admission formalities if selecting NO Upgradation. If the candidate selects YES Upgradation

The candidate agrees to be considered for a higher preference in Round 2.

Important points:

The existing locked choices will be used automatically. The candidate cannot submit fresh choices in the immediately following round. If a higher choice is allotted, the earlier seat will be cancelled automatically. Upgradation is irreversible; the candidate cannot reclaim the earlier seat. If no higher choice is available, the previously accepted allotment will be retained, subject to counselling rules.

The official YES Upgradation declaration confirms that a candidate agrees to accept any allotted option placed above the present seat in the locked list.

If the candidate selects NO Upgradation

The candidate accepts the present seat and does not want consideration for a higher preference.

The candidate must:

Complete document verification Complete admission at the allotted institute Pay the institutional fees Collect the reporting or admission receipt

After selecting NO Upgradation, the candidate cannot later change the decision to YES Upgradation. The official NO Upgradation declaration states that the remaining locked choices become invalid.

Situation 3: No Seat Is Allotted

Candidates who do not receive a seat in Round 1 do not need to pay the seat-acceptance fee.

They are automatically eligible for Round 2 with their existing choices. They may also opt for fresh choice filling during the Round 2 window from 22 to 24 August 2026.

If a candidate chooses fresh choice filling, the earlier choice list will be cancelled. The candidate must create, save and lock a new list within the Round 2 deadline.

Not receiving a Round 1 seat does not mean that the candidate is out of counselling. Seats may become available because of:

Non-reporting Failed document verification Admission cancellation Candidate withdrawal Upgradation Newly reported vacancies Situation 4: Allotted a Lower Choice but Does Not Respond

A candidate allotted the second or a later choice who does not pay the seat-acceptance fee or does not complete document verification will lose the current allotment.

However, according to the 2026 counselling rules, such candidates may remain eligible for Round 2 with the existing choices or may submit fresh choices.

This relaxation does not apply in the same way to a candidate who receives the first choice and fails to report. First-choice non-reporting leads to debarment from the remaining counselling process.

ANM/GNM 2026 Counselling Fees

Candidates should understand that three different types of fees may be involved.

Fee Purpose Amount/status Counselling registration fee Participation in counselling ₹500, non-refundable Seat-acceptance fee Provisional acceptance of the first allotment received Check the clarification below Institutional admission fee Admission, tuition and other college charges Varies by institute Hostel or accommodation fee Applicable only where hostel is available/selected Varies by institute Important Seat-Acceptance Fee Clarification

The official 2026 counselling notification contains a drafting inconsistency. It shows the amount numerically as “Rs. 1,000” but spells it out in words as “Rupees Five Thousand.”

Because the same sentence contains two different amounts, candidates should:

Pay only the amount displayed in their official candidate dashboard. Check the WBJEEB website for a corrigendum. Never transfer money to a personal bank account, UPI number or unofficial agent. Save the payment-success page and transaction receipt. Contact WBJEEB if the portal amount and any later official clarification differ.

The ₹500 counselling registration fee is separate from the seat-acceptance fee. Institutional admission fees are also separate and must be confirmed directly with the allotted college.

Who Has to Pay the Seat-Acceptance Fee?

The seat-acceptance fee is payable when a candidate receives an allotment for the first time in any round.

Therefore:

A first-time Round 1 allottee must pay it. A candidate receiving the first allotment in Round 2 or Round 3 must pay it. A candidate who has already paid the fee generally does not pay it again in a later round. A candidate receiving no seat does not pay the fee.

Payment must be completed within the reporting window. A pending bank transaction is not the same as successful payment.

What to Do If the Payment Fails

If the amount is debited but the portal does not show a successful payment:

Do not immediately make repeated payments. Check the payment status in the candidate dashboard. Save the transaction ID and bank statement. Wait for the portal’s prescribed reconciliation period, if displayed. Contact the official helpdesk before the deadline. Make another payment only if instructed or if the earlier transaction is officially marked failed.

Do not wait until the final hours of 21 August to pay the fee.

Physical Reporting Process

Physical document verification at the allotted institute is mandatory. Online fee payment alone does not complete the admission process.

Step 1: Contact the Allotted Institute

Immediately after downloading the allotment letter:

Visit the institute’s official website. Call the institute’s admission office. Confirm reporting time. Ask about institutional fees. Ask whether payment is online, by demand draft or through another official method. Confirm the number of photocopy sets and photographs required. Check hostel availability and separate hostel documents, if applicable.

The official schedule specifically advises candidates to contact the institute for detailed requirements and reporting timings.

Step 2: Arrange the Documents

Keep the documents in the same order as the checklist provided by the institute. Carry originals and sufficient photocopies.

Step 3: Report Within the Deadline

Report between 19 and 21 August 2026 according to the institute’s working hours. Do not assume that reporting will remain open until midnight on 21 August.

Step 4: Complete Physical Verification

Institute officials will verify:

Identity and date of birth Class 12 eligibility English pass status Domicile Category or subcategory Medical fitness Course and gender eligibility Information entered during counselling registration Step 5: Select Upgradation Status

If allotted the second or a later choice, select YES or NO Upgradation after understanding the consequences.

Step 6: Complete Admission Where Required

Candidates allotted their first choice or selecting NO Upgradation must complete admission and pay the required institutional fees.

Step 7: Collect Receipts

Before leaving, collect and preserve:

Document-verification receipt Physical reporting receipt Admission receipt Institutional fee receipt Upgradation declaration copy Any provisional admission letter issued by the institute or portal Official Document Checklist

The 2026 counselling notification specifically requires candidates to present the following documents during physical verification:

Printed provisional seat-allotment letter ANM/GNM 2026 rank card Class 10 admit card as proof of date of birth Class 12 mark sheet West Bengal domicile certificate Relevant category or reservation certificate Medical Fitness Certificate in the prescribed format

The Medical Fitness Certificate format is included in the ANM/GNM 2026 Information Bulletin.

Candidates must print counselling documents directly from the portal. Screenshots, mobile photographs and manually recreated copies are not accepted as substitutes for portal-generated documents.

Category-Specific Documents

Carry the applicable certificate if admission has been allotted under a reserved or special category:

SC certificate ST certificate OBC-A certificate OBC-B certificate Updated OBC Non-Creamy Layer certificate EWS certificate PwD certificate and applicable physical-verification document Civil Defence certificate Orphanage or inmate-of-destitute-home certificate Any other certificate supporting the allotted quota

OBC candidates must produce an updated Non-Creamy Layer certificate valid under the applicable West Bengal rules.

Additional Documents Commonly Requested by Institutes

The following documents may also be required by the allotted college. Candidates must confirm the exact list directly with the institute:

ANM/GNM application confirmation page Entrance examination admit card Class 10 mark sheet or pass certificate Class 12 admit card and pass certificate Aadhaar card or another photo identity proof Recent passport-size photographs Seat-acceptance payment receipt Locked-choice printout Counselling registration-fee receipt YES or NO Upgradation declaration School leaving, migration or transfer certificate Character certificate Anti-ragging undertaking Gap certificate, where applicable Bank account details Institutional fee-payment proof Hostel application documents, if required

Carry the original documents along with at least two or three sets of self-attested photocopies unless the institute gives different instructions.

What Happens During Document Verification? If all documents are accepted

The candidate’s allotment may be confirmed, subject to completion of the required upgradation or admission process.

If the domicile certificate is rejected

The present allotment may be cancelled. The candidate’s eligibility for the next round will be reconsidered according to the revised domicile status and counselling rules.

ANM/GNM admission requires the prescribed West Bengal residence conditions, so candidates should not assume that an invalid domicile claim will leave all options unaffected.

If a category certificate is rejected

If an SC, ST, OBC or EWS claim is not accepted:

The current reserved-category allotment may be cancelled. The candidate may be treated as a General candidate in the next round. Future allotment will depend on General-category eligibility, rank and vacancy. If a PwD or special-category certificate is rejected

The present allotment may be cancelled, and the candidate may be considered in a revised category in the next round, subject to eligibility.

If basic eligibility is not satisfied

A candidate who does not meet the minimum educational, age, language, gender, residence or other essential admission conditions may be removed from the counselling process.

Securing a rank or receiving an allotment does not guarantee admission if the supporting documents are invalid.

YES Upgradation or NO Upgradation: Which Should You Choose? Choose YES Upgradation when Choose NO Upgradation when You are willing to accept any higher choice from your locked list You are satisfied with the present institute You understand that an upgraded seat will replace the current seat You do not want to risk moving to another institute Your higher choices are genuinely preferable You want to complete admission immediately You can comply with the next-round schedule You do not want further consideration

Do not select YES merely because a “better college may come.” Check every option placed above the current allotment. If upgraded to any one of those choices, the previous seat will be cancelled automatically and cannot be reclaimed.

Round 2 Eligibility After Round 1 Automatically eligible with existing choices

The following candidates may proceed to Round 2 with their existing choices:

Candidates who selected YES Upgradation after verification Candidates who did not receive any Round 1 seat Eligible candidates covered by the non-responsive lower-choice rules Eligible for fresh choice filling

Fresh Round 2 choices may be submitted by:

Candidates registering for the first time in Round 2 Candidates not allotted any Round 1 seat Candidates allotted a second or later choice but treated as non-responsive Candidates whose Round 1 seat was cancelled during document verification

If an eligible candidate submits fresh choices, the previous choice list and any applicable previous allotment will be cancelled.

Not eligible for fresh choices in the immediate next round

A candidate who successfully completes verification and selects YES Upgradation must continue with the existing locked choices. Such a candidate cannot rearrange or replace those choices in the immediately following round.

Withdrawal and Refund

The scheduled withdrawal window is available during Round 2, from 26 to 29 August 2026.

According to the counselling notification:

A candidate may withdraw within the specified withdrawal period. Successful withdrawal ends the candidate’s participation in future rounds. The refundable amount is processed through online banking. The stated processing period is approximately 60–90 days after all rounds conclude. The ₹500 counselling registration fee remains non-refundable. Refund and forfeiture remain subject to the Board’s final refund policy.

Candidates should download the withdrawal confirmation and keep it until the refund is received.

Important Mistakes to Avoid Waiting for an SMS instead of checking the official portal Missing the 19–21 August reporting window Paying money through an unofficial link Treating fee deduction as payment success Carrying screenshots instead of portal-generated printouts Reporting without the original domicile certificate Carrying an outdated or invalid OBC-NCL certificate Forgetting the prescribed Medical Fitness Certificate Selecting YES Upgradation without reviewing higher choices Selecting NO Upgradation without understanding that the decision is final Assuming the seat is confirmed before document verification Confusing the seat-acceptance fee with the institutional admission fee Reaching the institute without checking its reporting hours Leaving without collecting reporting and payment receipts Round 1 Reporting Checklist

Frequently Asked Questions When will the ANM/GNM Round 1 seat allotment result be released?

The result is scheduled for 19 August 2026. WBJEEB has not announced an exact release time.

Where can I check the result?

Candidates can check it through the counselling link available on the official ANM/GNM page.

Is the allotment result released as a public PDF?

Candidates must log in to view their individual allotment status and download the provisional allotment letter. They should not depend on an unofficial name-wise list.

What is the reporting deadline?

Round 1 payment, physical reporting, document verification and applicable admission formalities are scheduled from 19 to 21 August 2026.

Is reporting online or offline?

Document verification is conducted physically at the allotted institute.

Do YES Upgradation candidates have to report?

Yes. Candidates allotted their second or a later choice should pay the applicable seat-acceptance fee and complete physical document verification before exercising the upgradation option.

What happens if I receive my first choice but do not report?

The candidate will be debarred from the remaining counselling process.

What happens if I receive a lower choice but do not report?

The current allotment will be cancelled. Under the 2026 rules, the candidate may still be eligible for Round 2 with existing or fresh choices, subject to the applicable non-responsive-candidate provisions.

What if I do not receive a Round 1 seat?

You remain automatically eligible for Round 2 with the existing choices and may also choose fresh choice filling during the Round 2 window.

Can I change my choices after selecting YES Upgradation?

No. YES Upgradation candidates are considered automatically using the existing locked choices in the immediately following round.

Can I return to my old seat after receiving an upgraded seat?

No. An upgraded allotment automatically cancels the earlier seat, and the change is irreversible.

Is the seat-acceptance fee the complete college fee?

No. The seat-acceptance fee is part of the counselling process. Tuition, admission, hostel and other institutional charges are separate.

How much is the seat-acceptance fee?

The official notification contains conflicting text: ₹1,000 numerically and ₹5,000 in words. Candidates should pay only the amount shown in their official dashboard and check for a WBJEEB clarification or corrigendum.

Are photocopies enough for reporting?

No. Candidates must carry the original certificates for verification. They should also carry the number of self-attested photocopies requested by the institute.

Does receiving an allotment guarantee admission?

No. Admission depends on successful document verification, eligibility, fee payment and completion of institutional formalities.

Final Advice

Candidates should complete the following five actions immediately after the result:

Check the allotment through the official portal. Pay the seat-acceptance fee shown in the candidate dashboard. Download and print all portal-generated documents. Contact the allotted institute for reporting time, fees and additional requirements. Complete physical verification and the applicable admission or upgradation formalities by 21 August 2026.

Do not wait until the final day. A technical payment problem, missing certificate or incorrect reporting time can lead to the cancellation of an otherwise valid allotment.
